Life is About Finding Your Balance Part 2

My first blog what entitled ‘Life is About Finding Your Balance’ if you’ve not read it yet, why not have a look at it and have a mooch around the website while you are there.

This past week I’ve been asked what this means and I suppose it means different things to different people but what it means to me is that when everything in life just flows and we feel well mentally and physically, then we are in balance.  I’m not striving for nirvana, as we know life is not like that, but essentially, for me, this is about taking care of myself in all areas of my life.  When you feel free and able to take care of yourself, then you can be the best version of yourself, not only for yourself but for others too.

We will explore this more as this blog evolves alongside the other resources on the website.

My Week

This week has been a whirlwind; I launched my website on Monday 6th June 2022 and was incredibly grateful so many connected with it – thank you, it means a lot to me.

I’ve been to London, to explore ideas for my website and some future scoping with the wonderful Susie Edwards and aside from working (I have a very busy sheet of flip chart paper to decipher and bring to life) and lots of nattering, we had the most amazing dinner at Ivy Café Wimbledon. My vegan Panna Cotta was particularly delicious - see my photo of the week below.

You can check out Susie’s services on her website - Wonderif

I’m currently reading two books, first is Anita Rani, The Right Sort of Girl, which is turning out to be a good read about what it’s like to be a Punjabi girl growing up in Britain and the other is Thanks for the Feedback: The Science and Art of Receiving Feedback Well by Douglas Stone and Sheila Heen  – the latter will have a book review shortly and Anita Rani’s book will probably be a bit of a reflective piece from me, around what resonated, what memories it evoked for me and whatever else arises – I’m still processing those.

What have you been reading this week? I would love to know.

Favourite Things

YouTube – I like Ryan Holiday, he manages to stretch my thinking in different ways than you would expect. This short video evoked and also provided some useful information; “Why you should do something scary ever day” by Ryan Holiday – the Daily Stoic, check it out when you have time.

App – This one came from my brother yesterday and I thought I’d share it, because I don’t know how I’ve managed to miss this.  It’s Google Lens, which is an app that lets you search what you see, using the camera on your phone or a photo.  We had a little bit of fun point the lens at various things around us, for example, a plant we didn’t know the name of, wall art we wanted to know where to purchase and its price.  Check it out for yourselves, I’d love to know what you discover whilst using it.

Next time I’m out in nature, I’ll be using it to explore my surroundings.

It has to be this, the delicious vegan panna cotta:

Question of the Week

I’ll always leave you with this question, as I think it’s a nice way for us to connect.  Please do leave your answers in the comments section and I will read and reply to them.  Here goes:

“What have you done this past week that brought you joy?”

Thank you for reading.  Bye for now.
