We Are All Replaceable In The Workplace - Don’t Kid Yourself Otherwise

Hello my friend, welcome back to my blog.

If you’ve connected with my website, I hope you’ve found it useful, if you’re reading the blog (my tenth) for the first time, please do take the opportunity to look around the website while you’re here.

My Week

Last week I shared the Action for Happiness, August calendar, I hope you’ve connected with it. Today’s action is:

I wonder what you will be cooking today. I’m making one of my favourite dishes this evening, which is a vegan Thai curry, full of lovely healthy tofu and fresh vegetables.

This week I wanted to share with you a website called the art of being brilliant. This website is the work of Andy Cope and associates. Andy also has a book of the same name, he does a lot of work in schools, businesses, NHS etc. He says “Most people are a million miles away from feeling as great as they could.”

The home page says – “We specialise in training and development to make you a more positive, motivated and brilliant person. In short, we will remind you how to be your best self.”

Essentially, his work is around happiness and he says that some of us are 2%ers – that is the 2% of people who stand out a mile as being enthusiastic, optimistic, energetic, effervescent and possess a ‘can-do’ mentality.  You can sign up for a newsletter and other resources here – Happiness Club.

What actually caught my attention this week was this blog entitled You are replaceable.  It talks about the scenario that often we can get wrapped up in work, and its pressures, which lead to stress, burnout and worse.  It says – “presidents, prime ministers, CEOs, we are all replaceable.  It doesn’t matter what you do, you can be replaced.”  So why not slow down and do your best to do a good job, but the most important job you do in this world is being a good person, especially with loved ones – saying yes to precious family moments.

Have a read and let me know what your thoughts are.

So on to sharing my favourite things this week.

Favourite Things

Photo of the Week

I thought I’d share a collection of photographs of our dog Holly, she is 13 now and struggling lately with her health. She means the world to us and is a loving, gentle soul.

Question of the Week

I’ll always leave you with this question, as I think it’s a nice way for us to connect.  Please do leave your answers in the comments section and I will read and reply to them.  Continuing the theme of happiness.

What lovely food are you cooking and sharing this evening?

Thank you for reading.  Bye for now.
